Xi’an City Wall
Xi’an City Wall (in simplified Chinese西安城墙) is located in the central area of Xi’an City. The Ming Dynasty in the early years decided at Tang Chang’an City of Imperial’s foundation for building up the wall in the late medieval Chinese history on one of the most famous building of the wall, and it was the only preserved in our country which has the most complete and largest walls.
The original Tang Chang’an, the Tang dynasty because of frequent wars, suffered great damage. God Save the first year of the end of the Tang Dynasty (AD 904), the garrison of the Mary Help of Christians Changan Jiedushi Guojun Han Jian, the City is not easy due to the original defense, so on the Chang’an City had a change to build.

After five generations after the Later Tang, after the Han, after thoughtful Song and Yuan dynasties, the city’s name and has formed in default despite repeated transformation, but the wall did not change the scale.
Ming-Hong Wu years (AD 1369) March, the general Xu Da to cross the river for the soldiers from Shaanxi, Shanxi, Yuan soldiers escapted during the Feng Yuan City Da occupation. Shortly thereafter, the court changed from Ming Yuan Xian road for House, which is named after the start of Xi’an. Ming emperor attached great importance to the status of Xi’an. Undetermined location in the capital was regarded before Tingchen have repeatedly recommended the use of Guanzhong situation, capital of Xi’an. Zhu Yuanzhang Independent Prince visited Xi’an, with the capital of View thing. Subsequently, the second son of the emperor also called the King of Qin Zhu. At that time, the Ming Dynasty fortification was a very popular trend, and now preserved in the National Medium Small lot of city walls, most of them are built at that time so far is still circulating in the civil.
